Learn MoreThe 2018 season of the First Capital Bank U-20 League was successfully launched on 22nd April 2018 in Salima at the Salima Community ground. The launch started with a parade of the trophies (DC’s trophy and National Finals trophy) through Salima Township. Other activities that made the event a crowd puller were a social football match between the First Capital Bank Socials Lilongwe team and the Central Region Sports Administrators Socials team, as well as entertainment in the form of traditional dances. The main event of the day was the exciting football match between the Salima Under-20 select versus the Kasungu Under -20 select which ended 1-0 in favor of the Salima team.
The event was attended by the Guest of Honor; the Minister of Labour, Youth, Sports and Manpower Development Honourable Francis Lazalo Kasaila, The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Samuel Tembenu as well as the Salima District Commissioner, Charles Mwawembe. First Capital Bank was represented by the Head of Branch Banking and Agriculture, Patrick Kabambe along with a lively team of First Capital Bank staff. Football Association of Malawi was represented by their Vice-president James Mwenda along with National Youth Football Association President Chimango Munthali.
A large crowd of enthusiastic spectators from Salima Township attended and made the event memorable.
